The name "Swimming for Survival" was imagined by our Founder during one of his initial training swims. While re-learning how to swim at his local lake in an attempt to calm his nervous system, he realized that swimming and the water had a calming effect on the body. By swimming daily, progressively overloading the distance each day, he was able to successfully complete over 20km within the first 3 months of training.
